I will surely miss Newton Ekpo. In 2000, when my family and I moved to the Sacramento area, accommodation was hard to come by. A friend in the Bay Area introduced me to Newton. I called him and Lucy answered the phone and told me he was not home. I left a message and when he came back he called and offered some suggestions. After that he called and checked on my family regularly. He talked to my boys about lives in California and live in general. He was a very good motivator and good role model. He laid emphases on education to my boys. He also prayed for my family. Even though my family and I are no longer in California, I will forever cherish his humility, love, and the care he had for mankind. On behalf of my entire family, I expressed our condolences to the Ekpo family, Lucy, Lloyd, Estelle, Esther, Elisabeth, the extended Ekpo family and the grieving families of Nigerian Association and all loving people of California. " Oluwa Olorun Olodumare yio jeki Ojo k'ojina si ara won, Amin"
